Disable two-factor authentication
Intelligence Center administrators can stop enforcing two-factor authentication Intelligence Center-wide. This enables users to individually decide whether they want to enable two-factor authentication for their profile.
Disable two-factor authentication as an administrator
If two-factor authentication is not enforced, individual Intelligence Center users can decide whether they want to enable two-factor authentication for their profile.
To stop enforcing two-factor authentication, and to allow users to choose whether they want to enable two-factor authentication for themselves:
In the side navigation bar click the settings icon > System settings > Account policy.
In the Account policy view click Edit account policy.
In the Edit account policy settings view scroll down to Two factor authentication.
To stop enforcing two-factor authentication for all Intelligence Center users deselect the Users can only log in if they have configured two factor authentication checkbox.
After saving the configuration, users can choose whether they want to enable two-factor authentication for their user profile, or if they prefer to sign in with only their single-factor authentication user name and password.
To store your changes, click Save; to discard them, click Cancel.
Disable two-factor authentication for other users
If an Intelligence Center user with non-admin access rights has lost access to the device they use for two-factor authentication, as well as to the recovery codes, Intelligence Center administrators can disable two-factor authentication for them.
This helps these users regain access to their profile, where they can set up two-factor authentication again:
If two-factor authentication is enforced Intelligence Center-wide, users will be prompted to set it up the next time they sign in to the Intelligence Center with their user name and password.
Otherwise, they can set it up at any time through their user profile.
To disable two-factor authentication for other users:
Sign in to the Intelligence Center with an administrator user account.
In the side navigation bar click > User management > Users.
In the users view, browse to the user you need to disable two-factor authentication for.
Click the corresponding actions menu .
From the drop-down menu select 2FA reset.
Disable two-factor authentication for your user profile
If your Intelligence Center administrator does not enforce two-factor authentication Intelligence Center-wide, you can disable it for your user profile:
In the side navigation bar click the avatar image of your user profile.
In the user profile view, scroll down to the Two factor authentication section.
If two-factor authentication is enabled for your user profile, the type is displayed under Type.
For example: App authentication (TOTP)To disable two-factor authentication click Remove.
In the confirmation dialog, click Delete.
Two-factor authentication is disabled for your user profile.
On your smartphone, open the two-factor authentication app you registered the Intelligence Center with, and remove the Intelligence Center account entry.
Disable two-factor authentication in your user profile before you remove the Intelligence Center account entry from your authentication app.
If you remove the Intelligence Center account entry in your authentication app first, the next time you try to sign in to the Intelligence Center you will be prompted to enter the authentication code, but you will no longer be able to generate it.
To recover access to two-factor authentication, use one of your recovery codes.
