Intelligence Objects | Entities | Types | Custom#

(Requires EclecticIQ Labs: Custom Objects)

Create custom Entity types that represent types of intelligence not captured in our predefined Entity types and also add custom attributes to either Standard or Custom entities.

Create Custom attributes#

  1. From the left sidebar, select Data configuration icon Data configuration > Custom Objects > Custom attributes.

  2. In the top right corner, select + Create attribute.

  3. Enter a Name.

  4. Select a Data type for this attribute.

  5. Select Save.

Create custom Entity type#

  1. From the left sidebar, select Data configuration icon Data configuration > Custom Objects > Custom attributes.

  2. In the top right corner, select + Create custom Entity.

  3. Enter a Name.

  4. (Optional) Enter a Description.

  5. Select + Attribute to add custom attributes to this custom Entity.

  6. (Optional) For each custom attribute:

    • select or enter a default value.

  7. Select Save.

Use Custom Entity type#

Once you’ve created your custom Entity type, you can choose it as the type for any new Entity you create. In places where you can create new Entities, such as:

  1. From the left sidebar > Create > Production > + Create Entity,you will see the Custom Entity option, hovering over which shows you a list of all the custom Entity types that have been created.

  2. Select one and proceed with Entity creation as normal.

Add Custom attributes to Standard Entities#

  1. From the left sidebar, select Data configuration icon Data configuration > Custom Objects > Standard Entity Types.

  2. Select an Entity to which you want to add custom attribute.

  3. Click on Edit

  4. Click on ** + Attribute **

  5. Select attribute by searching in search bar Search Attribute by name or create a new attribute by clicking on Add new attribute.

  6. Click on Save.

Use Custom entities in Standard Entities#

  1. Once you’ve created your Custom attributes for standard Entities, you can use them during the creation of the entities.

  2. Select one and proceed with Entity creation as normal, in the custom attribute section you can provide the values for the same.
