View Unified Entity Details#

Open a Unified Entity#

To view detailed information about a Unified Entity:

  1. From the Entity browse view, select a Unified Entity.

  2. The detail pane opens, displaying aggregated information from all contributing Entities.

Unified Entity Information#

Unified Entities are distinguished from standalone Entities by the label “Unified Entity” in the top right corner of the detail pane.

Descriptions:

Descriptions are aggregated from multiple contributing Entities:

  • The overview displays descriptions from up to three contributing Entities, showing the source name, reliability rating, and last updated date for each. Text formatting, images, and tables are removed from this summary view.

  • Select View all descriptions to expand an accordion view showing all descriptions with their original formatting, images, and tables retained.

Other fields:

All other fields are either aggregated from contributing Entities or populated based on the deduplication configuration settings.

Edit Unified Entity Information#

Unified Entities display aggregated information from their contributing Entities. To update any information shown in a Unified Entity, navigate to the relevant contributing Entity and make your changes there. The Unified Entity will automatically reflect the updated information.

To update a Unified Entity:

  1. From the Unified Entity detail pane, select the pencil icon in the header.

  2. Select the contributing Entity you want to modify.

  3. Make your changes to the contributing Entity.

  4. The Unified Entity will automatically update to reflect the changes.

Manage Contributing Entities#

The Contributing Entities section in the Neighbourhood tab lists all Entities that contribute information to the Unified Entity, along with their source names. Only contributing Entities from sources you have access to are displayed.

Use the context menu next to each Entity to perform actions such as editing, removing from the Unified Entity, or conducting bulk operations.

Merge and Un-merge Entities#

You can merge and un-merge Entities to build or modify Unified Entities. These operations can be initiated from multiple locations in the system.

Merge Entities#

You can merge Entities at any time to create new Unified Entities or add Entities to existing Unified Entities, regardless of whether automatic deduplication is enabled or disabled.

Initiate a merge from the Entity details pane:

  1. Open the Entity detail pane.

  2. Select the context menu in the upper right.

  3. Choose Unify with an existing Entity.

Initiate a merge from the Entity browse view: You can perform bulk merges by selecting multiple Entities before initiating the merge action.

Creating a copy of a contributing Entity will create another contributing Entity linked to the same Unified Entity.
