Use | Widgets | Create#

You can create your own custom Widgets to display exactly what you’d like to see on your Dashboards.

There are two types of Widgets:

  • Data type widgets displaying info on Entities or Observables (filtered with queries as required).

  • Dataset widgets displaying info on the intelligence in specific Datasets.

Create Widgets#

Preliminary steps#

  1. From the left sidebar, select Dashboard.

  2. On the pane that slides out next to Widgets , select Create icon Create.

  3. Choose the type of Widget to create. Select either:

    • a Data type Widget (by selecting either Entities or Observables), or

    • a Dataset Widget (by selecting Create custom widget from Dataset).

  4. If creating a Widget from a Dataset, enter a query to filter for the Dataset you want the the Widget to display information about and select the Dataset from the list.

  5. Select Add description next to “Untitled widget” to give the Widget a name and a description.

  6. (Optional) On the Filters tab, add a Search query to the Widget so it only includes intelligence that matches the query your enter.

Setting date range details#

  1. (Optional) Select the Override Dashboard date range checkbox and select a date range from the drop-down menu to have the Widget always display intelligence from the set date range (relative to the moment of viewing) instead of having it inherit the date range of the Dashboards it is shown on.

    Example date range

The date range set in the drop-down menu will always be used to create the example Widget visualization.

  2. On the Mapping tab under Advance Options, select a date option for intelligence inclusion.
The date option that you select here governs that only intelligence for which that date falls within the date range of the Dashboard (or Widget if Dashboard date range is overridden) will be included.
E.g. when Select date option is set to Created date and the checkbox from the previous step isn’t checked, the Widget will only display intelligence created within the date range of the Dashboard the Widget is viewed on.

Chart details#

  1. On the Mapping tab under Chart details, select the type of chart you’d like the Widget to contain.

  2. On the Mapping tab under Chart axes select options for the chart’s axes.

  3. Depending on the chart type you select, you will only have to select values for one or both of the Chart axes.

  4. Under Advance options per axis, you can select,:

    • Limit number of values : the maximum number of values to show in the Widget on the Dashboard.
The Widget will always show all included values when maximized as modal.

    • Include values : the exact values you would like the Widget to include. If you enable Wildcard expressions it becomes a keyword list where values will be included on partial matches, not just exact matches.

    • Exclude values : the exact values you don’t want included in this Widget.

  5. Select Save.
