Discovery rules automatically add entities to the discovery index if the entity:

• has direct or indirect relations to objects in specified workspaces or workspace types, and either

• matches a given search query
  or

• contains words included in the a keyword watchlist.

Entity limits

By default, each Discovery run can return up to 2500 entities. This means a run for a Discovery rule times out if it returns too many Entities.

To change the number of Entities that Discovery rules can return, see Tune Discovery limits in Update platform_settings.py.
