About two-factor authentication

Two-factor authentication adds an extra security layer by requiring users to verify their identity in two different ways before they can access EclecticIQ Intelligence Center.

Two-factor authentication makes it harder for potentially malicious parties to engage in activities such as identity theft and impersonation, or unauthorized access to assets and resources.

EclecticIQ Intelligence Center implements two-factor authentication by checking:

• Something users know; that is, their user name and password.

• Something users have; that is, a smartphone with a compatible authentication app that generates a time-based one-time password (TOTP).

EclecticIQ Intelligence Center two-factor authentication supports any authentication app for Android and iOS smartphones that implements the OTP authentication mechanism.
