Configure the outgoing feed
Create or edit an outgoing feed.
Under Transport and content, fill out these fields:
Required fields are marked with an asterisk (*).
Field
Description
Transport type*
Select Infoblox NIOS from the drop-down menu.
Content type*
Select Infoblox API from the drop-down menu.
Datasets*
Select one or more existing datasets from the drop-down menu. The menu only displays datasets that contain observables supported by the Transport type you’ve selected.
See Supported observables for more information.
Update strategy*
Select an update strategy.
Supported update strategies:
DIFF
APPEND
Name of the IPs RPZ*
Enter the name of the RPZ to send IPv4 and IPv6 observables to.
This name must be different from the Name of the Domains RPZ field.
Name of the Domains RPZ*
Enter the name of the RPZ to send Domain observables to.
This name must be different from the Name of the IPs RPZ field.
DNS View name
Enter the name of the DNS view whose RPZ you want to send observables to.
Your user must have permissions to administer the DNS view specified.
(Not recommended) If left empty, the feed will attempt to:
Determine the name of the default DNS view for the default network view. This “default” DNS view is set by the NIOS appliance, and can be renamed by administrators.
Sends observables to that default DNS view.
Username*
Enter your Infoblox NIOS user name.
This user must have permissions to administer the DNS view specified above.
Password*
Enter your Infoblox NIOS password.
URL*
Enter the URL of your Infoblox NIOS instance.

Supported observables
This outgoing feed supports the following observable types:
domain
ipv4
ipv6
The Infoblox NIOS outgoing feed publishes Domains, IPv4, and IPv6 observables to RPZ rulesets.
When a Domain observable is published to the target RPZ, it sets a Block (No Such Domain) Rule for that domain name.
When an IPv4 or IPv6 observable is published to the target RPZ, it sets a Block IP Address (No Such Domain) Rule for that IP address.
