Install the platform VM

EclecticIQ Platform is available as a virtual appliance in a downloadable VM image in .ova format. We offer VM images for VMWare Player and VirtualBox.

Download a VM image

To download an .ova image of the platform:

1. Go to https://downloads.eclecticiq.com/platform-vm/x.x.x/
   Replace the x.x.x placeholder with the platform release version you want to download.
   Example:
   https://downloads.eclecticiq.com/platform-vm/2.9.1/

2. Browse to the downloadable .ova image file.
   x.x.x in the file name is a placeholder representing the platform version whose image you want to download.
   Make sure you download the only production image:

   • eclecticiq-platform-production-without-neo4j-x.x.x.ova

   • eclecticiq-platform-test-with-neo4j-x.x.x.ova

     Example:

   • eclecticiq-platform-production-without-neo4j-2.9.1.ova

   • eclecticiq-platform-test-with-neo4j-2.9.1.ova

3. Save the platform image file to a local directory.

Install a VMWare Player VM image

1. Launch VMWare Workstation Player.
   The default VMWare Workstation Player start location is Home.

2. On the right side Home pane, select Open a Virtual Machine.

3. On the Open Virtual Machine dialog, browse to the location where you saved the decompressed VM files.

4. Select the appropriate .ova image file, and then click Open.

5. The new VM becomes available in the left side pane in the player.

6. On the right side pane click Edit virtual machine settings.

7. On the Virtual Machine Settings dialog, Hardware tab, click the Add button.

8. On the Add Hardware Wizard, Hardware Type dialog, select Network Adapter, and then click Next.

9. On the Add Hardware Wizard, Network Adapter Type dialog, select the Host-only: A private network shared with the host option, and then click Finish.

10. Click OK.

11. On the right side pane click Power On.
